Can't easily type in accent characters in Excel...

Postby Randall Smith » Wed Jan 30, 2008 8:12 am

I've been testing out the new export/import text feature and just realized that you can't type in accent characters in Excel like you can in Word. This is going to be a big problem for translators when they are asked to translate the text using this Excel framework. (I haven't tried entering text with an international keyboard into Excel, maybe that works.)

Alt, i, s command

Hmm, this is true. You can quickly launch the Insert Symbol dialog box in Excel using the [Alt, i, s] command. In addition to the latest-symbols-used being displayed at the bottom, that should make typing accented characters a little quicker.
