What controls bullet colors?

Postby kcoshea » Tue Oct 02, 2012 1:50 pm

Hi -

We are using bulleted lists which sometimes contain text of a different color (e.g. in a bulleted item, one word is blue underline to indicate rollover but the surrounding text is black). Sometimes the bullet color is changed to match the text color of that word or words that are not black, and other times the bullet is unaffected and remains black.

Is there a secret to keeping the bullet black and/or changing it to a specific color? I have tried playing with a few options but can't seem to narrow in on what is controlling it.

Hi Katie,
Yeah, unfortunately the Flash text object that SmartBuilder's text object is based on has some strange behavior like this. I don't think there's a rule for properly controlling the color of the bullets (as much as I would like there to be). Often what I'll do is just create a totally separate text object, one for the bullets, and one for the text, to keep things sensible.

It's definitely something will be improved in SmartBuilder version 4 next year.
