With the announcements by Adobe and Microsoft with regard to the use of flash on tablets is smartbuilder going to accommodate publishing to html5 for elearning content provision on tablet devices?

Hi,
This is definitely something that we want to add to SmartBuilder, and it is almost certain that we will include HTML5 output for SmartBuilder version 4. Version 4 is still in its early stages, however, and will be a while before that is available. Obviously the sooner better, and HTML5 is important, but I'm curious about the demand for tablet support*. Do you have a demand for tablet support at your organization? Is it formal, or requests from employees? Or are you inquiring for the future / it would be nice to have? Is the desire for HTML5 solely for tablet support?

* Flash is still currently supported on non-iOS tablets, and SmartBuilder content runs on that.

We do have a potential client who has just roled out iPads to all of its 500 Managers. This is not the first request we have received for delivery of learning content through iPad. In Ireland the iPad tablet is still the largest tablet market, mainly due to the large number of people who use iPhones rather than Android devices. Although this is changing, we will need the capabilty of creating courses that will play through our LMS on an iPad, and probably early in 2012.
Do you have a target date for your V4 product?
