Scorm call cmi.total_time

Postby keesvandewal » Wed Aug 28, 2013 1:55 am

Hi,
The Scorm packages that we have made with Smart Builder save the time of the last session in the LMS (cmi.session_time). How can I save the total time from all sessions in the LMS (cmi.total_time)?

Kind regards,
Kees

Hi there,
The LMS should track total time all by itself. You can read the cmi.total_time, but you can't set it (that's from the SCORM standards). Please see the reference here - http://scorm.com/scorm-explained/techni ... reference/

When you find the cmi.total_time call, it says RO, meaning read only. It's the same for SCORM 2004 and 1.2.

If you're finding that the total time is not reporting, you should check with your LMS provider. If they have information to the contrary, please let me know.

Hope that helps!

Hi Nav, thanks for your answer.
We are working with Ilias LMS. There is a field Time but it shows only the time from the last sessions. Our contact says it is not possible to configure Ilias for showing total time in stead of session_time.
