IMS QTI (Question and Test Interoperability ) specification

Postby rwicker215@aol.com » Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:18 am

Hello,

Does SmartBuilder content meet the QTI specifications? I was just asked this question, and I have no idea.

Kind regards,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
At this time we do not support QTI but we are considering it for the future. However, it is not likely something that we will see any time soon. Out of curiosity, what other technology are you considering using with SmartBuilder that QTI would be handy?

Hi Nav,

Plans are to use QTI to build assessment questionnaires for one group to pre-assess the student's needs for a course. (This is outside of my work group.)

They've found an authoring tool to create the XML files for the assessment definition for now (Elques).

The purpose for using QTI is that if we have a better tool in the future we can switch to that and the back-end programming will not have to change.

Kind regards,
Rebecca
