Using a Global Variable to Bookmark

Postby BEVaughn » Thu Oct 20, 2011 2:03 pm

Hello Nav,

I have another question for you that I forgot to ask yesterday.

We'd like to use the employee number we capture through the query string as a book mark. Right now we currently have the bookmarking feature setup to remember progress for a single computer using the same browser. The only trouble with the way this is setup is that we sometimes have learners who use the same computer to take training, so being able to bookmark based on their employee ID would be more helpful.

Please advice.

Thank you and have a good weekend,
Brooke

Hi Brooke,

This is possible. You're using cookies to store the bookmark, correct? Well, instead of creating bookmarking actions that save a cookie called "bookmark", get the value of the Global Variable that contains the User ID.

If you need further help with this, please tell me the name of the lesson, as my exact answer will probably depend a little on how you've currently got it set up. Good luck!
