Input text boxes and wild card characters

Postby tahiya » Wed May 15, 2013 10:25 am

I have tried using a * to indicate a wild card character in a condition for a text input box that is a response to a question. It didn't work. Is there a way within the text input box condition window to make an answer correct even if it is accompanied by other words or letters? In other words, I want to give them credit for getting the basic concept word, no matter how they choose to express that. I also thought about creating a variable that then has actions to strip out anything that isn't the word I'm looking for and returns an answer based on that, but my thought process was getting a bit convoluted....
Sorry if I missed the simple help file info on this. happy to be directed.

Hi Tahiya,
I think you're looking for the "contains" method.

Trigger: Button > onClick
Condition: Input Text 1 > contains "cat" == true
True Response: Correct fb > show
True Response: Incorrect fb > show

Even if you put in "the cat is not a cat" into the input text object, you'll get the correct feedback.

Hope that helps!
